Vikander commented that the story “has compelling female voices and is packed to the rafters with female talent both sides of the camera.”

Vikarious is to be co-managed by Vikander and her London based agent Charles Collier.

Euphoria will begin shooting sometime this autumn in the German Alps. Lisa Langseth who collaborated with Vikander in the films Pure and Hotell will be directing the project. Euphoria will mark Langseth’s English-language debut.

Vikander is set to feature in a number of films this year, a historical drama Tulip Fever, the new Bourne film and The Light Between Oceans alongside Michael Fassbender under the direction of Derek Cianfrance. She is best known for her oscar winning performance in The Danish Girl where she worked alongside Eddie Redmayne, winning the Oscar for best supporting actress. Vikander also appeared in Alex Garland’s sci-fi thriller Ex Machina and Guy Ritchie’s The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

Vikarious was formed not long after the formation of Freckle Films, a competing production company founded by Jessica Chastain. Such shifts in the film industry are likely to spell a welcome shift in the face of movie culture in the next few years.

Vikarious is planning to produce two more titles within the next two years.
