Dipping Into Kevin Corrado’s ‘Transfer’ Collection

Kevin Corrado is a picture illusionist with an incredible creative ability to make his audience look twice. FIB found it too hard to just focus on one of this photographer’s collections, so we decided to curate a gallery of our favourites for you to scroll through.

“I just don’t photograph anyone, I don’t just photograph anyone. Memories fade and people disappear, but these photos will last until I die.”

It’s universal knowledge – creatives understand that the way that one might see a photograph is totally different to the next person. This photographers photo manipulations are all about perspective, and he does a great job at making his intention of the image clear, still leaving room for our own interpretation. This is what draws us in.

In his most recent collection ‘Transfer’, he explores the simple concept of colour matching. Corrado spoke with Illusion Scene 360 about the creative process behind this collection in particular. He also states that due to his lack of traveling, all the images in ‘transfer’ were all photographed in Connecticut (where he is based), and often nature is the subject he captures.

The main focal point of these compositions is Corrado’s hands. Blue paint dripping of his arm to represent the ocean, white to mimic the clouds and green to compliment the forest. He states that the photographs were merged together in post-production creating a distinctive composition.

This talent doesn’t only use photography as a creative outlet, he also paints and draws. His painting skills can be seen in the bottom half of his ‘transfer white’ clouds image.
