He may be loving it up with Taylor Swift but Tom Hiddleston is about to get close to another primate in Kong: Skull Island, where he stars alongside Brie Larson, Samuel. L. Jackson, and John Goodman.
One of a couple of reboots featured at Comic Con this year, the other being King Arthur, Kong: Skull Island centres on the origins of King Kong and will eventually lead to a cataclysmic tussle with Godzilla, though that may still be a few years away. For now, we’ll see the big gorilla terrorise recent Oscar winner Larson and friends.
Set against the historical backdrop of the Vietnam War, Kong also sees Samuel. J Jackson and John Goodman go head to head. At this point I’m seriously starting to wonder if there is more than one Samuel. L because how he gets the time to appear in all the films he does begs belief.
This initial trailer is somewhat of a tease, we don’t get to see the King in all his glory but we sure get an idea of his size and ferocity from the chaos he unleashes on the band of relatively helpless soldiers. Surprisingly, the two supposed stars, Larson and Hiddleston don’t see a lot of airtime in this trailer but that’s understandable considering the studio wants to amp up excitement for the film going forward. The best way to do that is obviously with action, action, action, and Samuel. L. Jackson.

Oh, boy he looks bigger and meaner than he ever has before. Let’s hope Brie Larson can charm him and keep Samuel. L safe from harm. We couldn’t deal with him perishing.
