If you saw The Lego Movie you’ll know it was pretty awesome, and if Batman was your favourite part of that film then you must be pretty excited about this trailer. Yes, it’s The Lego Batman Movie and by golly gosh does it look like a lot of fun!
Even better news is the genius casting of Ralph Fiennes as Alfred, if you’ve seen The Grand Budapest Hotel, you’ll know why this is such a smart move, and the trailer confirms it. The spin-off will centre around Batman’s (Will Arnett) adventures and the start of his relationship with sidekick Robin (Michael Cera) as they interact with the likes of Batgirl (Rosario Dawson) and The Joker (Zach Galifianakis).
There’s just so much to like about this brand of film. They’re extremely cheeky and can be enjoyed by kids and adults alike. Anyone who is a fan of these characters will get a kick out of this film twisting the narrative in such a humorous way. It pokes fun at every opportunity. Take a look at the trailer and try to tell me you aren’t excited.
Lego Batman is something the world needs right now. A film that requires nothing of the audience except to go along for the ride, laugh, and relax. For me personally, the trailer was a breath of fresh air that allowed a moment of carefree mirth. It’s something that can immediately brighten your day, and I’m sure this film will be one of the most feel good of 2017.
Comic Con was particularly exciting this year with so many highly anticipated releases giving us first looks or new trailers. It was hard to know which way to look. Our heads are still spinning.
