Fans Speculate Over a Series of Clues About Bon Iver Album

After five years of silence, Bon Iver is destined to make a comeback (and our ears couldn’t be more delighted by the news).

Last time Bon Iver was on the scene making sweet, sweet music was back in 2011 when they released their self-titled album to the world. After an age of silence, a teaser has emerged making its way around, showcasing a brief glimmer-of-hope and prepping us for (what is hopefully) new music to come. The teaser titled ’22 days’ is brief, but just enough to instill life into our ears as we wait eagerly for official new music.

The news comes surrounding the announcement that Bon Iver WILL be playing a SET of NEW MUSIC at the Eaux Claires festival (the festival which was created by Bon Iver front man, Justin Vernon and Aaron Dessner from The National), in the USA this August.

The Indie Folk band have also been noticeably active on their social media posting all sorts of clues and inklings for fans to feast on.  One post, a mural with the number ’22’, linking it back to the video and band and raising all kinds of speculation on whats to come. The mural which made it’s appearance known in Brooklyn, read “It might be over soon”. With no confirmation on the suggested meaning (we’re guessing perhaps a new album title), the mystery still remains.

Furthermore speculation has surfaced suggesting that there will be a live album premiere this Friday (at Eaux Claires Festival), I repeat, this is not a drill – A LIVE ALBUM PREMIERE THIS FRIDAY. While there’s no actual confirmation from the band – just a bunch of riddling clues and our hopes and dreams that hang in the midst of speculation – there definitely seems to be something brewing on the part of Bon Iver. Could this be their first showcase of not only new music, but an entirely NEW ALBUM?

While I guess all one can do is sit idle and wait, we’re definitely “feeling 22” in the suspense of it all.
