NYFW SS17 Recap: Banana Republic, Victoria Beckham And JIMMY CHOO

Incase you’ve been living under a rock you might not know, but New York Fashion Week (NYFW SS17) is on this week. We’re only partly through the event but already their are some major news-worthy collections and collabs that have been displayed. And we are here to help you keep up with the tonne of coverage being thrown at you, starting off with Banana Republic, Victoria Beckham and JIMMY CHOO.

Banana Republic who showcased their SS17 Ready-To-Wear at NYFW, featured laid back silhouettes that breathe effortless style and exhibited classic tailoring in versatile pieces that will allow you to tackle your day. The brand recruited style icon Olivia Palermo to pick her favourite pieces of the collection and show us how to style them on their website.

Banana Republic are known for their tailored and classic pieces that are versatile and trans-seasonal, so who better to curate a capsule collection than the queen of classic tailoring; Olivia Palermo.

BR instruct their consumers to put their own spin on the collection but to use Palermo for inspiration and guidance.

 The next news worthy show comes by way of Victoria Beckham, who in addition to having a star studded front row (including Vogue’s Anna Wintour and hubby David Beckham), debuted her SS17 Ready-To-Wear collection with a more relaxed tone than her previous collection, featuring freely moving fabrics and baggy midriffs (if there was anything covering the midriff at all), even taking to calling one of the lighter fabrics used in the collection ‘sea-foam’.

World famous shoe designer extraordinaire JIMMY CHOO has also announced a 20th Anniversary capsule collection titled ‘Momento’ at NYFW on September 9th to celebrate the shoe designer’s 20 years of revolutionary designs and inspiration. The website describes the collection;

“THE MEMENTO CAPSULE COLLECTION INCORPORATES 20 SHOE AND BAG DESIGNS THAT EMBODY JIMMY CHOO’S INIMITABLE STYLE, GLAMOUR AND CONFIDENCE. INCLUDED IN THE COLLECTION ARE ORIGINAL DESIGNS AS WELL AS SOME WELL-LOVED  SIGNATURE STYLES INCLUDING LANCE AND ANOUK WHICH HAVE BEEN EMBELLISHED AND DRESSED UP FOR THE OCCASION.”
