Nova Orchid and Hannah Elyse are both young Australian models fresh on the scene. Sunniva Vaatevik is a model from Norway and Ari Westphal is a model from Brazil and both represented by DNA models. Take a read of some of their quirks and peculiarities.
Nova Orchid is a 17-year-old Australian model represented by IMG models. She is based in Montreal and has spent time in Sydney, Paris and Amsterdam. Orchid says if she were not a model she would be working at NASA as an astrophysics protégé.
When describing her style, she names a few different influences, including David Bowie, ex machina, Patti Smith and the song purple rain by prince as instrumental in shaping her style. One of her favourite items is a cream, satin fishtail skirt by Alexander McQueen gifted to her by her godmother.
Hannah Elyse is also an Australian model and at age 18, she is represented by Chadwick Modelling Agency. She stood out on the runway where she walked for Louis Vuitton twice, once for their Spring 2016 collection and again for their AW16 collection, closing the show at Paris Fashion Week. Elyse was also the fit model for Louis Vuitton’s most recent collection. Naturally blonde, she dyes her hair jet black and has an undercut, naming Uma Thurman from Pulp Fiction as inspiration.
Elyse describes her style as two fold, either doll-like with a choker and platform boots or as casual with jeans and trainers. Lady Gaga influences her fashion and style and finds her music to be iconic and identifies with the message of being yourself. She is clearly loving the modelling world and has no plans to stop any time soon. She is excited about travelling to New York and wants to model for as long as she can.
Sunniva Vaatevik is a 19-year-old model from Norway, represented by DNA models. Her favourite fashion designers are Alexander Wang, Dior, Celine, and Raf Simons. Vaatevik enjoys the evolving and ever changing side of fashion and finds it interesting. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and spending time with her family, friends and boyfriend.
Ari Westphal is a 22-year-old model from Brazil, also represented by DNA models. She is named as the “new Gisele” because of her tanned skin, high cheek bones, curly hair and green eyes. Westphal was chosen for a Chloe campaign and landed the cover of Vogue Brazil. Westphal was also recently on the cover of Cake Magazine, an indie publication.
Interestingly her short curly hair happened completely by accident when a hairdresser chopped off four more inches than asked. Then, when Westphal arrived in Paris for her first season she did not know where to go to get her hair straightened. Result: Short curly hair! This led to bookings by Vivienne Westwood, Sonia Rykiel and Chloe.
