Masters of Music Vol. 18 Pop

The first of four volumes on Pop music, we present our giant hard covered picture books on the careers of the biggest names in Pop, an interesting genre that gone through many transformations.

Pop has come a long way since its early bleatings; from the authentic teen angst of the early sixties to the languid internalisation of Coldplay and the airbrushed soul of  Beyoncé. Pop is now blurred into red-carpet supermarket magazines, slotted between weight loss and divorces. It’s hard work staying on top.

In this web documentary, we take a look at the King of Pop himself: Michael Jackson

Beginning his career performing with his brothers in the Jackson 5, Michael eventually became a solo musician and a dominant figure of the 1980s pop scene. With such classics as ‘Thriller’ and his iconic Moonwalk dance moves, Jackson immortalised himself as an incredibly influential figure in the history of music. Despite his latter life being controversial, Michael Jackson still remains an icon of a generation.
