Milan Fashion Week SS17 Runway Trends Wrap Up

Following this year’s 2017 Milan Spring/Summer Fashion Week, we take a look at some of the most awe-inspiring and creative pieces that you are sure to love. The world’s fashion capital became home to the world’s most renowned designers, makeup artists, celebrities, and models for Milan Fashion Week.

This year the message from Milan was loud and clear: if it’s sporty it’s hot. And we couldn’t be happier, sporty couture transitions perfectly into the sizzling Australian summer. The stand outs seemed to be Max Mara, Giorgio Armani and Missoni, pushing the boundaries for the Spring/Summer fashion.

Runway Trend: Frills

Sport Luxe was all the rage, with active wear staying very much ‘in fashion’. Milan brought sport inspired leggings, luxe tracksuits and athletic bomber jackets, while models styled with sleek hair or high pony tails, epitomised the ‘off-duty model look.’ Whoever thought sporty styles were boring, think again, because Milan Fashion Week took fully advantage of structured athletic coats with sequin and lace detailing.

Bohemian trend was also spotted on just about every runway. There is something special about wavy hair, bold earthy colours, and flowy dresses that just have us wishing for a tropical getaway. And that’s exactly how Milan Fashion Week made us feel. The Bohemian trend was brought to the runway with floor sweeping day dresses, ombre colours, loose ruffles, and models wearing ivory grecian accessories.
