A full trailer has been released for the Baywatch film, an eagerly awaited adaptation of the hugely successful 1990’s hit show starring David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson. Set to hit cinemas on the 26th of May 2017, the reboot stars Zac Efron and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in all their muscular glory and a stunning female cast including Priyanka Chopra and Alexandria Daddario.

The trailer is full of everything you could image from muscles, red swimsuits, explosions, bike chases, fire, helicopters and most importantly (in classic Baywatch fashion), a bevy of beauties running in slow motion along the beach.

Johnson takes on the role of Mitch Buchannon a lifeguard who takes his job very seriously. With city council cutting back their funding he has to team up with the newbie, Zac Efron as Matt Brody, a hottie brought on as a PR stunt to arouse interest in the team’s work. An unlikely duo, initially at odds with each other, they’ll have to work together to solve the mystery of a body that turns up on the shores of the beach.

The original television show reached cult level status and much to the delight of Baywatch fans everywhere, The Rock confirmed that Hasselhoff will be making a cameo appearance. We hear Pamela Anderson is also set to grace the big screen in the adaptation.

The reboot appears to be a change from the old days of Hasselhoff and it’s cheesy music. Those us who want to sit back and laugh at the cheesiness of the original (even though it holds a fond place in our hearts) are in for a treat as director Seth Gordon is best known for his comedies including, Four Christmases and Horrible Bosses.
