Baby Driver is the perfect combination of comedy, action and crime that is written and directed by Hot Fuzz’s Edgar Wright. The film features a star cast that consists of Kevin Spacey, Lily James and Jamie Foxx — just to name a few.

Wright unveiled his new film at South by Southwest earlier this month. It stars Ansel Elgort as Baby, a quiet music obsessed getaway driver for a group of rotating bank robbers. The film follows Baby and the struggles he faces by working for a crime kingpin named Doc, played by Kevin Spacey. In the newly released trailer we see Baby and his girlfriend Deborah on the run after things don’t go as planned as he tries to do what every getaway driver does in a heist film…get out of the business. Of course, Baby must complete just one more job before he’s granted the ‘freedom’ he so desperately wants.

Baby Driver has what every action movies needs: a great soundtrack, tough criminals, an innocent female character and some crazy cool driving stunts. At a Q&A after the premier of the film, Wright said “I wouldn’t write a scene until I found the right track.” Seeing as Baby’s music choices dictate every action scene, the soundtrack plays a major role in the films sequence.

Wright says he drew influence from the ‘holy trinity’ of 90’s heist films: Point BreakHeat and Reservoir Dogs. Sony Pictures Entertainment originally set the film for a March 2017 release but it was rescheduled to be released in the United States on August 11, 2017 by TriStar Pictures.

Critics and reviewers alike are claiming that Baby Driver might even be one the best comedy-action films to be released in the last ten years if ever.
