Staying on top of fashion trends can be tough, considering how quickly they come and go but don’t worry because here at FIB we have you covered. Let’s take a look into 2017’s world of fashion and explore what trends this year will bring to our closets.

Sporty vibes:

We’re predicting the motorsports inspired look to come in, in a big way! It was featured just recently on runways and worn by street style stars like Kendall Jenner who stepped out in a pair of motorcross inspired pants for a day out with model gal pal Hailey Baldwin.

Outerwear That’s In:

This is a look that isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Wearing your jacket half on and half off is an easy way to accentuate any outfit, creating a killer fashion statement. We know what you’re thinking – how will you stay warm against the cold? Not to worry this statement looks equally as good paired with a hoodie or long sleeve top so you can stay warm all season.

Retro Inspired Sunglasses:

Call this look what you want but it’s definitely a hit amongst the streets.  It’s sort of vintage sunglasses meet Bono from U2 look. Either way it’s here and we’re obsessing over it. Adding sunglasses to any look is the perfect way to finish off an outfit creating a chic end result. Not only is this popular on the streets but also with many young stylish women such as Selena Gomez, Kylie Jenner and Sofia Richie to name a few.

Comfort is key:

The fashion gods have been listening to our prayers and sneakers are here to stay. We love this trend just as much as the next person because well, duh, comfort. It’s not much fun running around town in heels, so this look is perfect. Ugly sneakers have been rearing its head on the runway and we are curious to see how the mainstream audience takes to this trend. Jumping onboard this train are fashion power houses, Balenciaga, Raf Simons, and ‘Yeezy Season 5’.

The Answer Is Athleisure:

It’s always Athleisure. Thanks to Alexander Wang’s collaboration with Adidas it’s safe to say that this trend is sticking around. Still a popular go-to as many opt for comfort nowadays which makes this look a must have all year round.

This trend also boasts a popularity amongst many celebs, think mega models Gigi and Bella Hadid as these two style stars take to the streets to show off their take on the favourite trend for many.

This year we’re seeing the return of track pants. We’re obsessing over this trend and can tell it’s going to be a popular go-to for a laid back Sunday style. Imagine a pair of Nike sweatpants with crisp sneakers or for a more dressed up version you can look no further than Kim Kardashian for inspiration, who paired up track pants with heeled boots to add more of a hip hop feel to her ensemble.

Office Vibes:

Pioneered by fashions heavyweights  Balenciaga, Hood By Air and Gosha Rubchinskiy this much forgotten trend has resurfaced with a brand new look. Still keeping things on the casual side this trend sees pairing an office staple button up shirt with the more casual sneakers or an oversized jumper with tailored pants, revamping the look with a fresh new twist.

All That Glitters Is Gold:

Glittery boots were big on the runway this season with Chanel, Saint Laurent and Missoni all donning a pair. We’re not sure if this trend is going to catch fire with the mainstream just yet but we’re sure we will start to see boots stepping out in shades other than your average black.

Because.. Winter Is Coming:

Obviously every season we see new a new piece of outerwear have its time in the spotlight and this year it brings us ski jackets. Also sticking around? Puffa jackets. Although trenches are here to stay we’re seeing the rise of the ski jacket with it’s vintage feel and vibrant pop of colour. It brings us back to an 80s era feel that seems to remind us of the ugly sneaker trend which is also hot this year, coincidence? We don’t think so.

Headwear We Don’t Hate:

Last year we saw baseball caps have their moment in a big way. This year we’re going in a different direction. Dior has brought back the beret and we are loving it! This cute accessory can top any outfit and we believe it’s going to be a major hit on the streets.

What’s Hot On top:

Ruffles! This romantic style has been given an edgy twist. It’s time to say goodbye to bell sleeves and say hello to the new sleeve on the block. Ruffles are being flaunted on tops, skirts, dresses you name it. This year we also see the rise of high neck lines which are making their way from runways to the streets. Logos! Branded tees and sweatshirts are big this season, bringing a casual yet cool vibe to your street style. Vintage, designer labels you name it we guarantee you’ll see it.
