5 New Tracks You Need In Your Life This Week

There is so much new music being released almost constantly. So, here at FIB we have done the hard work for you and found some of the best new tracks, straight from us to your ears.

Mansionz – My Beloved
Mansionz is a hip hop duo made up of Mike Posner and Matthew Musto. Mansioz has been gaining popularity from his attitude fuelled single “STFU” but their recently released self-titled album shows an impressive range of songs. At times Mansionz takes on a cool, confidence with funky upbeat tracks but they also have introspective and philosophical moments in songs like “I’m Thinking About Horses.” “Beloved” is a sweet track shows Mansionz range as artists and is worth listening to as an emotional and soulful stand alone track from the very impressive album.

Julien Baker – Distant Solar Systems
Julien Baker is one of the most impressive female vocalists making music right now. On top of that she makes incredibly touching songs, often exploring the deep emotional pain of depression and heartbreak in her lyrics with poignant poetics. “Distant Solar Systems” has a more positive tone than many of her other songs. The song gives a sensation of movement, growth and exploration with Bakers’ familiar soft and dreamy vocals.

Ali Barter – One Foot In

Ali Barter has recently released her first full album following a series of E.P.’s and we are pretty excited about it. Barter is Melbourne born and gained a lot of attention with the very 90’s girl band, single “Girlie Bits.” Ali Barter has a classic rock sound but her nasal vocals are reminiscent of your favourite Scandinavian pop stars, put that way it sounds like it may not work and yet we can’t stop listening. Her music is fun and upbeat with just enough edge that anyone can listen to it. This song will get you up and moving, whether you’re adding it to your walking like a badass playlist or dancing around in your room.

Goldlink – Meditation ft. KAYTRANADA and Jazmine Sullivan
A pulsating beat accompanied by a funky, fast paced melody make this track an infectious offering on the album from Goldlink. Last week Goldlink released his highly anticipated first studio album as his popularity has been growing since his And after That We Didn’t Talk mixtape. The track is more subdued in the outset but quickly builds into a fun track to groove to.

Smino – Amphetamine

Last, but definitely not least, here is a little something to just chill and vibe out to. Slow, soft, sweet; Smino has our heads lost in the clouds with the closing track from his first album blkswn. The perfect late night cruising song with features from absolutely ethereal female rappers Noname and Jean Deaux as well as Bari.
