Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls…prepare yourself. The new Game of Thrones promo trailer is here! With a July 16 premiere date and a short teaser being released just weeks before, Game of Thrones fans have finally been treated to something a bit more substantial.
The trailer, just over a minute and a half long simultaneously reveals so much and nothing at all. The new leaders are in the house… but where is everyone else?
The Great War is approaching and so is the ever present threat of winter. Season seven of this smash hit fantasy will see the families of Westeros cross swords. The trailer alludes to something wickedly awesome brewing up between the families at the top.
The trailer is soundtracked to English rock band James’ song ’Sit Down’ and with very little dialogue actually spoken (aka none), it sets the tone for what fans are to expect for the upcoming season. It’s a bit creepy, a bit serious and definitely heading for something crazy.
The preview follows just three of the shows leaders taking the short but seemingly long walk to their respective thrones. Cersei Lannister finally takes her place upon the grand Iron Throne, Jon Snow is back in his rightful home of Winterfell and Daenerys Targaryen sits upon a slightly uncomfortable looking throne that could potentially be Dragonstone. Or maybe Seastone from the Iron Islands? July can’t come soon enough for us to find out!
Oh, and what would a Game of Thrones trailer be without the frightening presence of the White Walkers. The much bigger threat of these undead, dead ice crazies is always creeping up in GoT, but will this finally be the season where their icy plan comes to fruition?
With this season being the shows second-to-last and with a potential of only thirteen episodes until it’s over for good, fans can probably expect a lot of blood shed in this one.
