Harnesses and Hoodies

Harnesses were a huge style trend as we saw one street style guru throw his over his denim jacket as were hoodies and corsets which you could have probably guessed due to the amount of momentum they are gaining worldwide. Hoodies are all over the streets and the runways which tell us that this trend is seriously hot and not going anywhere anytime soon so ladies and gents grab your wallets, start your engines and get buying!

Pink is the New Black

What we love about Tokyo fashion is their ability to mix it up and have fun with their fashion statements and a big trend we were seeing on the streets was the colour pink. From the men’s millennial pink knits and shirts from Sulvam to the ladies on the streets with magenta braids there’s no denying this versatile colour is trending.

Super-sized

Over-sized is everything! Our main takeaway from stalking these fashion savvy street stylers was that bigger is better with many layering up their shirts, sweaters and coats.

Footwear with a Twist

Footwear was killer this season with style stars getting creative. Sneakers were popular in all forms, think the ugly sneakers but also a mix of the classic such as converse and vans. Boots such as Doc. Martins were also a heavy feat this season which gave off a more grunge vibe and platforms were favoured. All shoes had their own flex as we saw embroidering, bright shoelaces, splashes of paint, snakeskin and much more.

Retro Sunglasses are the to-go

Sunglasses coming in hot as always this seasons main go-to’s were the vintage inspired design that’s been killing it on the streets. What we love most about Tokyo’s street style is that it takes trends that have been seen in the Western culture and they put their own spin on it mixing it up to make it truly exciting and different which makes us want to rush out and wear what they’re wearing..
