American Assassin is an American action-thriller adapted from Vince Flynn’s 2010 novel of the same name. The film follows Mitch Rapp and his early days at the CIA. American Assassin stars Dylan O’Brien, Michael Keaton and Taylor Kitsch.

In the trailer, audiences are treated to the sight of a very bearded O’Brien as his character, Rapp, is having flashbacks of himself and his girlfriend on a beach, as he proposes. The flashbacks show terrorists attacking the beach resort and killing Rapp’s fiance. Drama unfolds and Rapp is recruited by the CIA for a revenge-filled mission to stop World War III in the Middle East.

Cold War veteran Stan Hurley (Keaton) is assigned to train the grief-stricken Rapp in how to counter terrorist operations and hunt the perpetrators. When Rapp is officially recruited by the CIA, the pair work together to investigate the random waves of attacks.

The trailer may be heavy on the clichés but it gets the point of the story across in just the couple of minutes allotted for the trailer.

American Assassin will be released on September 15, 2017.
