The Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) will kick off with a handful of Road To Weekender events across Perth, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane from the 26th to 31st of August, before touching down for the Sydney Weekender Festival from 31st August to the 3rd of September.

Events across Sydney vary vastly not only in location but in genre: from Midori Takada’s percussive compositions and the progressive-jazz stylings of Melbourne’s Krakatau played amongst the ruins of the Middle Head Fortifications in Sydney Harbour National Park – to a lecture (and subsequent demonstration) by Garage House DJ Tony Humphries at Marrickville Bowling Club. RBMA Weekender has covered all bases for this culturally and musically diverse cross-city festival.

The festival wraps up with the One Day Carpark Carnival, boasting the forefront of the Aussie hip-hop community. The lineup sees Remi, Jackie Onassis and One Day DJs take over the Max Watts Precinct of the Entertainment Quarter for a Sunday afternoon of live art and chill beats.
