Rihanna, Harry Styles and Ed Sheeran. Three names of which you categorise as bona fide pop stars, however, this might soon change after their appearances on screen in some big upcoming movies and television series.

Rihanna as “Bubble” in Valerian

Rihanna is finally back on the big screen since her debut role in Battleship (2012), a tiny role as herself in This Is The End (2013) and the voice of Gratuity ‘Tip’ Tucci in the animated movie Home (2015). The singer is now playing a major role in the movie Valerian which is set to be released on the 10th of August this year.

Unlike some singers-cross-actors, RiRi is quite the talent when it comes to acting. She plays a shape-shifting alien stripper that is so good, you’ll be as excited as she is about the release of the movie. See the trailer and her Instagram post below.

Harry Styles as “Alex” in Dunkirk

Fans can forever wave goodbye to the good old 1D days as Harry Styles puts on his big boy pants and stars in his very first movie, Dunkirk, Christopher Nolan’s hyped historical drama portraying Germany’s advancement into France, trapping Allied troops on the beaches of Dunkirk.  While not the biggest role in the movie, Harry does his role quite well. Though, he has struggled a little on the interview circuit. Bless his heart.

The film Dunkirk will be released in Australian cinemas on the 20th of July.  Until then, check out the released trailer below.

Ed Sheeran in Game Of Thrones

Ed Sheeran has been announced to appear in season 7 of Game Of Thrones and people are going nuts.  Ed is said to have a small role but unlike other musical appearances in the show (like Coldplay’s Will Champion and indie group Of Monsters and Men), he gets a speaking role. Ed told radio host Tom Green that he will appear alongside Maisie Williams in the HBO fantasy hit show: “I sing a song and then she goes, ‘Oh, that’s a nice song,’ and I go, ‘It’s a new one’”.  Oh, Ed, we love how goofy you are!

Unfortunately, there are still four more days until Game Of Thrones Season 7 arrives on your screens, so to ease the unbearable waiting game, here’s the season 2 trailer.
