The xx Team Up With Earl Sweatshirt And Kelela, Announce ‘I See You’ In Oz Next January

Fresh off headlining Australia’s biggest winter festival, Splendour in the Grass, British indie trio The xx are heading back across the pond for their headline ‘I See You’ tour next January.

Akin to the atmosphere of Splendour’s amphitheatre, The xx will be treating fans to their undeniably dreamy sound in outdoor arenas in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. And as if that news could be more exciting, Earl Sweatshirt and American R&B singer-songwriter Kelela will be tagging along for the ride!

The XX will be debuting a new sound, which sees producer Jamie xx take the reins to create an “advanced electro-pop experiment mixed with indie rock and R&B”. Consequence of Sound describes their new direction through their stage presence:

“Where The xx shows were once all stark, black-and-white and moody shadows, now they come in full glorious colour, with a tropical stage setting and even more self-confidence.”

Partnering with PLUS1, The xx are donating $1 from every ticket purchased towards local LGBT+ programs in each tour destination.

If you’re a member of either The xx fanclub, Frontier, Handsome Tours or Spotify then be on alert for ticket pre-sales next week! And if you’re a lowly member of the general public, get your speedy digits ready for online sales via Ticketmaster (Vic & Bris) or Moshtix (Syd) next Friday 25th August.
