Where Should Sydney’s Nightlife Meet Next, Darlin’?

Following on from the roaring success of ‘Meet Me in the Cross’, the guys over at Keep Sydney Open are throwing another rager in the name of… well, keeping Sydney’s ailing nightlife alive.

Aptly named ‘Meet Me in Darlo’, the day-to-night festival will mirror its Kings Cross predecessor spanning across a number of Darlinghurst establishments. Kicking off at 3pm on the 21st of October, the event will spread from Oxford Arts Factory to Harpoon Harry, The Colombian, The Oxford Hotel, Brighton Up Bar, The Cliff Dive, The Flinders Hotel, The Beauchamp, Hotel Hollywood, The Unicorn and The Stonewall – plus many, many more.

While the full line-up of artists is yet to be announced, it’s safe to say the brains behind this operation have seriously ramped up the party this time around. And according to the Director, Tyson Koh, for good reason:

“A report conducted by the Darlinghurst Business Partnership found that bars and clubs took a 33 per cent hit to their turnover after the lockouts, but perhaps more interestingly, daytime business fell by 25 per cent. It shows how far-reaching the effects of lockouts have been on all aspects of the city’s vitality,”
