Tash Sultana’s ‘Mystik’ Feels Like It’s Been a Long Time Coming

Tash Sultana’s one-person ensemble takes a higher turn in this explosive vibe-laden track!

Tash Sultana has released a new single entitled “Mystik”; lyrically reminiscent of Bob Marley’s “Natural Mystic”, and further explores the reggae and roots vibes from her previous project. The track slowly builds up from start to finish in classic Tash Sultana style; with guitar, bass, and percussive loops – climaxing towards the end with Tash brandishing her virgin saxophone skills in a solo that makes you want to bump, really adding another greater dimension to her sound.

Tash told triple j that the song was about the death of her ego,

“I tried to just come back down and connect myself to myself and just be present, because when you’re busy all the time you kind of get caught up in this whole mist and you forget to stop and be still and you get carried away thinking that you have to do all these things at the same time when you probably just should be instead of do.”
