We know that sex sells, and fashion campaigns use it ad nauseum: whether they be advertising something directly linked to it like lingerie or something as mundane as a handbag. It comes as no surprise then that porn sites are now vying for a piece of the action…
When one thinks about porn merchandising, it’s hard not to imagine coloured vibrators or edible lingerie –you know, things that have a direct link to sex. But sites like Pornhub have decided to expand into fashion with a more sophisticated eye. Recently the renowned porn site teamed up with sportswear brand Moose Knuckles to create a special edition bomber jacket, which has proven to be surprisingly tasteful and rad.
The jacket, which went on sale last week, is a chic bomber in black and orange –Pornhub’s signature colour palette- with the Moose Knuckles logo also in orange, and a fox fur trim. Quite trendy! Pornhub VP Corey Price had this to say about the collaboration:
“We’re excited to partner with Moose Knuckles on this bomber jacket, just in time for the winter season. Moose Knuckles has always been a dynamic, badass company that continues to put out statement pieces that seamlessly mix classic, contemporary, and futuristic designs. And ours in no different. So, next time you thrust yourself into the unexpected and wander out from your comfy abode in rain, sleet, or snow, make sure it’s in a Pornhub bomber jacket.”
This is not the first time that Pornhub has come out with fashion statements that are both edgy and classic. Not long ago the company teamed up with fashion label Richardson to produce a limited edition capsule, which included a hoodie, one-piece swimsuit, and a number of T-shirts: one featuring the collaged face of a renowned pornstar, and another featuring the flags of the countries in which Pornhub is permitted and banned.
It’s clear that the interconnectedness between sex and fashion is going to continue progressing and, who knows, maybe other porn sites will get in on the action and bring out some strange fashion statements like phallic headbands… but for now, we can rest easy knowing that some surprisingly chic clothing is coming out of porn.
