Despite the fact that it’s been 14 years, The Incredibles 2 picks up the moment the first film left off, so you haven’t missed a thing.
Everyone knows it as one of the best Pixar films ever made, and it’s finally returning for a second installment on June 15th. The trailer reveals the plot for the film, which involves Helen Parr (Elastigirl) going out and fighting crime, while Bob (Mr. Incredible) stays at home to look after the rest of their superpower family.
Meanwhile, “a tycoon” wants to bring superheroes back into the spotlight, which piques the interest of the family. As we know from the last film, superheroes were previously shunned by the public and were forced to retire and live normal, mundane lives. Also returning to the sequel are fan favourites Edna Mode and Lucius Best (aka Frozone).
It seems we’ll also be getting more of an understanding of Jack-Jack’s powers too, which seem to be all over the place at this point. In the trailer, he shapeshifts, teleports across the room, and also manages to use fire and lightning abilities.
The Incredibles 2 seems to have exactly the same vibe as the first film, which is pretty impressive considering it’s been almost 15 years since it’s release. I know I’ll be excited come June, even if it’s just me with a bunch of six year olds in the cinema.
