The Splendour in the Grass Lineup Just Dropped and It’s Amazing, I Might Cry

That’s right folks the Splendour in the Grass lineup has just dropped for 2018 and it is ridic. You got Kung Fu Kenny, Lorde, Khalid, and Vampire Weekend coming out strong, and that’s without mentioning all the A+ home grown talent that they’ve got stacks and stacks of aswell.

Arguably the biggest artist in the world is headlining our very own Splendour in the Grass: Kendrick Lamar. Following the release of his critically acclaimed record Damn last year, and having done the soundtrack for Black Panther he’s on every radio station at every hour and now we get to see him in person!

Then we’ve got our Kiwi neighbour Lorde who is also at the top of her game touring her Melodrama album. I saw Lorde at Spilt Milk festival last year and she was so beautiful I actually cried. She’s amazing, her music is amazing, and I’m sure her performance at Splendour is going to be amazing also. Khalid is also headlining which makes me wonder…will they perform ‘Homemade Dynamite’ together?!? A girl can only dream.

Vampire Weekend is set to release a new album this year, it doesn’t have a release date yet, but it does have the working title Mitsubishi Macchiato and their being announced to perform at Splendour probably means it’s going to be released soon! Oh hell yeah.

Okay now onto the homegrown talent! Methyl Ethel are playing and they are amazing; call me Dyson Cool because I am a HUGE fan of these guys. Gang of Youths won triple J’s album of the year award and they’re playing too! Then there’s Angus and Julia Stone, DMA’s, Ball Park Music, Safia, The Jungle Giants, Middle Kids, Hockey Dad, Skeggs, Mallrat and so very many, many more. This lineup is so good it’s got me all flustered, I think I need to lie down. Maybe do some breathing exercises.
