Trailer Round-Up: Jurassic World, Skyscraper, Halloween & Deadpool 2

A few trailers have dropped recently, so FIB has come along and put them all in one place for you so you don’t have to waste precious moments fiddling around with search engines.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

It’s been four years since the events of the last Jurassic World movie and it looks like things are definitely stirring up once again. According to the movie description, the volcano on the Jurassic World Island is flaring up, so Owen (Chriss Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) are on a mission to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from total dino-volcano-annihilation. I’m not really into dinosaurs, but I am into Chris Pratt being Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard demonstrating pure strength and balance by running from 20 foot dinosaurs in 6 inch heels.

Skyscraper

Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson: he’s an official movie star now, and he’s leading Universal’s latest action flick. The premise is that Dwayne is a security agent charged with assessing security for skyscrapers, when “on assignment in China he finds the tallest, safest building in the world suddenly ablaze, and he’s been framed for it. A wanted man on the run, Will must find those responsible, clear his name and somehow rescue his family who is trapped inside the building…above the fire line.” Looks like your basic big budget action flick, which I’m sure is full of suspense as the trailer ends with The Rock jumping off a massive crane – is he going to live??? Is our treasured Dwayne going to die???? I guess we’re all going to have to buy a ticket and find out.

Halloween

Okay, so an official trailer is yet to be released but Universal have dropped a juicy little nugget announcing we can expect a spooky follow-up to the wildly successful slasher film Halloween on October 18th, 2018.

Jamie Lee Curtis is all set to reprise her role as the iconic Laurie Strode. If you’ll recall from the landmark 1972 film and its 1981 sequel, Laurie narrowly escaped the masked killer Michael Myers’ clutches… so I think it’s safe to say the forthcoming film will see Laurie come to a be-all-end-all confrontation with the perennially creepy Myers. Written by David Gordon Green and Danny McBride, the sequel has been slated to ‘carve a new path’ (interesting choice of words there, friends) from the events of the original flick. Not sure about you guys, but it’s going to be a little hard to take the OG masked Mike Myers seriously after Netflix’s LOVE cast Rich Fulcher in the place of his unmasked alias in a parody on an LA ‘Behind the Scenes’ film tour.

And in even more eerie news, John Carpenter – the dude behind the chilling score in the original film – will be back for more hair-raising chords and skin-crawling strains!

Deadpool 2

Honestly I have no clue what the plot of this is going to be but I know I’m going to love it. Ryan Reynolds is back in his most favourite role and he’s just as ridiculous as the first time. Basically the trailer is Deadpool building a team for some reason, doesn’t really say, and then that team fighting someone or something, who knows. There’s lot’s of action, funny quips, and basically it’s an all round celebration of Ryan Reynolds running around in a latex costume.

Which flicks do you look forward to seeing?
