The long awaited trailer for MCU’s Captain Marvel has finally been released today and it’s as epic as you expected.
The film will feature Brie Larson as Carol Danvers and Captain Marvel. Unlike most MCU films, Larson’s character will already have her superpowers when introduced to audiences. This technique is reminiscent of what we saw with Spiderman: Homecoming but it seems audiences will learn about the superhero’s origin simultaneously with her.
Jumping right into the 90s, with a crash landing in a wonderfully nostalgic Blockbuster Video store, ringer tees and pagers, Captain Marvel is the superhero everyone from Gen X and Y wanted and needed. Family favourite Captain America had the World Wars era, DC Comics Wonder Woman had her moment during the Cold War, awkwardly hilarious Star Lord was living it up towards the end of the 20th Century, while Tom Holland’s Spiderman has overtaken the 21st Century. It’s about time someone got their grunge on and dominated the 90s.
Marvel regular Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D’s Agent Phil Coulson are also seen throughout the first trailer for the action flick.
Having been hyped up at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, we know that Larson’s character is going to play a huge part in the Marvel Universe.
