With Australian indie-pop sensations GLADES in toe, BAYNK exhibits the warm electronic approach synonymous with modern producers. A horn-laden chorus interweaves with singer, Karina Wykes’, vocal prowess—pulsating percussive elements and structural digressions further highlighting vocal and song writing proficiency.
Off Limits implements a shuffled beat and loose instrumental bridge. Echoing playful inebriation, it’s tailor made for summer fields and memories of the good times. As if mirroring the creative process, BAYNK reflects upon the easy going and relaxed collaboration between the two parties.
Upon his most recent collaboration, BAYNK details “I had always wanted to work with GLADES after hearing Karina’s voice pop up on the radio one day. It’s so unique and interesting. Once I got to their Airbnb I realised how much of a writing powerhouse the whole group is and how in tune they are with each other. The whole process was easy and natural, and the song just sort of fell out of my brain.”
The first since his debut EP, Someone’s EP, Off Limits comes coupled with an extensive North American tour announcement. With a new EP on the horizon, 2019 sees a promising one for the young Kiwi.
