Joey King completely transforms into her character, Gypsy Rose Blanchard, for the intense new true crime series on Hulu.
The first teaser for The Act has just been released showcasing the true story of the murder of Dee Dee Blanchard by her daughter, Gypsy Rose Blanchard.
Gypsy, played by Joey King, is currently serving in prison for the murder of her mother who she claims had abused her continuously by passing her off as a sick individual in an attempt to gain attention and sympathy.
The series will reveal the story of Dee Dee who convinces the public her daughter has leukemia, forcing her into a wheelchair and constantly feeding her an array of drugs and needless medication when Gypsy is a perfectly healthy and able child.
In preparation for the role, King shaved her head to play the said, “cancer-ridden” child.
King posted an Instagram video shaving her head back in October 2018, revealing the new role she was set to undertake.
Now, we finally have the opportunity to view the look in its entirety in the new teaser released just yesterday.
