Netflix has dropped into the World Wide Web, the official trailer for season three of Stranger Things. Oh boy, is it filled with action, adventure and 80s reference to boot. Combining so many vibes from classic 80s films, like Stand by Me, IT, and ET: Extra Terrestrial, the trailer is truly exhilarating, to say the least.

Starting out with a lighter atmosphere, we can see that the old gang are enjoying their summer break, hanging out at funfairs, at the local pool and the new Starcourt mall, where everyone’s favourite mum Steve is working. Being Stranger Things, however, the childhood fun quickly turns into dastardly monster hunts and Upside Down pandemonium. In blink-and-you-miss- it frames, it appears season three is really going to up the ante, and our favourite gang of misfits are going to be faced with peril beyond their wildest imagination.

The trailer is jam-packed with action, so you will have to watch it at least 25 times – several of them, pausing frame-by-frame, because, trust me, there is a lot you can miss in just one viewing. Very clever Netflix, very clever.

July cannot come soon enough! Stranger Things has become one of the biggest TV shows in the world, contributing to recent cultural waves of 80s nostalgic fashion and pop culture. It encompasses the feel-good nature of an 80s sci-fi blockbuster, with the classic chills of a monster movie, with the general comedic tone of modern cinema. The character development, costuming, casting, and so much more, all work together to create a show that has reached so many people across the globe.

Okay, time to take another breath. Check it out below, and prepare your eyes for some crazy times, as the anticipation for season three builds, and brightly coloured shirt sales spike.
