The Best Street Styles From Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2019

This year’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week certainly served a number of très magnifique looks on the runway, but FIB has taken to the streets to show you the best of the best off the runways.

Like any fashion show, the crowd that was drawn to the heart of Sydney to experience the Resort 2020 shows at MBFW19 were dressed almost as well as the models on the runway. Whilst the collections were all about warmer weather, the streets were laden with layers.

A frequent pick for many fashion goers was the blazer. A re-occurring winter staple; the blazer was far from the business-boring it’s so often associated with, and whether styled with sleek pants, a cute mini or a pair of sneakers, it was certainly a crowd favourite.

Another commonality amongst the crowd at Carriageworks was the tea-length trend. Skirts, dresses, coats – you name it – all floated down to almost the ankle of the wearer. No matter the pair of shoes that were peeping out from underneath, these tea-length looks were served sweeter than an English Breakfast with three sugars.

Now of course it wasn’t just all blazers and tea-length skirts; the streets outside the MBFWA19 shows were adorned with bold prints, statement sleeves, statement bags, statement sunglasses (you’ve gotta have that statement something) and so many sneakers you’d think Nike was showing.

So, with MBFWA over for another year and the streets of Sydney filled with the normal crowd once again, I leave you to find inspiration from these street styles and plan your outfits for the rest of the chilly season like I am about to do.
