City Recital Hall has long since been an institution at the heart of Sydney’s music and arts world for 20 years, playing host to names like Bon Iver, The National, Cat Power, and Paul Kelly.
As the first purpose-built music venue taking residency in Sydney since the Sydney Opera House in 1973, it has since established quite an upstanding reputation among performers and audiences.
Tomorrow, in celebration of their 20th year milestone, they’ll be holding a special concert curated by Megan Washington.
The Australian songwriter is collaborating with the duo, Electric Fields, pianist and composer Luke Howard, and quintet Topology for the performance titled ‘We Are Twenty’.
Elaine Chia, City Recital Hall CEO said: “Twenty years of musical stories, thousands of performance and millions of music lovers have all led to this moment. We thought about looking back, but it’s much more exciting to look forward. We Are Twenty will be about now, tomorrow and the future.”
