Feeling Happy on Jackson Carroll’s Catchy Song: Happyman

Sparking early traits of lyrical genius, Jackson Carroll unveils his new song ‘Happyman’ and a new EP Name It After Me due out on Friday 22nd of November.

Hailing from Sydney, Jackson Carroll’s whimsical songwriting and musical direction has seen him become a rising star around the Sydney east coast thanks to his unique singing talent that has been said to be the likes of Matt Corby and Jeff Buckley.

Jackson Carroll’s new song ‘Happyman’ shows a more upbeat contrast to his earlier April release ‘Holy Hell’ which showed Carroll’s capacity to deliver an astonishing sentimental and moving soulful presence.

In ‘Happyman’ Carroll demonstrates his maturing and clever songwriting chops. Carroll releases a sense of vibrant energy and lyrically shares the same passion of a young Morrissey from The Smiths.

On the song’s message, Carroll explains:

“It is more of a song about hope than happiness. It’s about trying to get to a happy place, to become a happy person. It’s more about desire and looking for desire in your immediate surroundings, looking for desire in other people.”

The music video directed by Joel Bryant at the South Cronulla Bowling Club conveys Carroll’s message of hope and happiness.

“The concept for the video, even coming up with the concept, carried a lot with it. The video needed to be something really spectacular in the literal sense of the word. It had to be special.” Carroll told Tone Deaf.

Jackson Carroll is looking forward to the next few months on the road to showcase his upcoming EP Name It After Me. With the first gig lined up at Cronulla’s live music haunt Brass Monkey. New listeners and fans should not dawdle to take a chance to see the young artist.
