The National Gallery of Victoria features exquisite artworks, sculptures and installations. It is renowned for revolutionary, robust exhibitions and should be on every person’s list to see when visiting Melbourne.

The NGV Gala’s world premiere of Keith Haring and Jean Michel Basquiat’s collection had over 230 pieces. Both men started as street artists in the ’80s and have been hailed as “startling” “bold” and “unprecedented.” As a Haitan and Puerto Rican man, Basquiat faced continual racism whilst living in America, and Haring’s homosexuality meant he also experienced discrimination. This influenced their artworks and here are some samples of these:

The night also featured food from the renowned Paul Carmichael who is the Executive Chef of Momofuku Seiōbo, his dishes were sure to have been a hit that night!

While the art stunned audiences from the inside, celebrities also stunned on the red carpet.Without further adieu, here are some of FIB’s best dressed from the night:

Don’t mind me as I sit back and envy the lucky ones who got to experience the night of nights in Australia.
