If you would like to be left alone, you are now able to avoid unwanted conversation with your Uber driver with just a press of a button.
Picture it: you’ve had a long day of work and all you want to quickly head home to relax so you decide to call an Uber. You breathe a sigh of relief as your ride arrives, then……..your Uber driver starts talking to you. Maybe you’re not in the mood to talk about your day or you’re just too tired but you worry that you could be given below five stars rating for your lack of conversation. If you are one of those people who prefer to ride in silence then Uber’s new feature is for you.
Uber just pushed out a special new feature called Quiet Mode where riders get to pre-select their level of conversations with the driver from ‘Quiet Preferred”, “Happy to Chat” to “No Preference”. But if you don’t really care either way then you could leave the option as No preference. Drivers will get an idea of how you are feeling before you’re picked up.
In addition to choosing an affordable to luxurious comfy rides, when you want to be picked up or whether you need a helping hand with your luggage to temperature adjustments. You can now control the conversation in the car with a push of a button on the app. With these amazing features, you could literally create your perfect ride at your fingertips.
Uber clearly understands the rider’s preference before the ride enables the delivery of the best customer service.
“With these new features and more to come, we’re excited to ensure that our riders can arrive relaxed and refreshed, wherever they’re headed”, according to Uber’s Senior Product Manager Adin Ghajar.
The catch? It’s currently only available in the luxury services of Uber Comfort. Uber Black and Uber Black SUV rides however can cost up to three times more than Uber X.
As Uber is upgrading it’s features to better meet the rider’s expectation, we hope these cool features will extend to Uber X rides in the future. Through the advancement of mobiles we are no longer limited to calling, changing the way we interact with each other. Many are preferring to communicate behind the screen of the phone rather than face to face interaction, calling up for a taxi ride has become a thing of the past. You now have control of the app to call a ride without awkwardly speaking to a stranger on the phone.
