Everyone is going bonkers for loungewear at the moment. Sorry, cute loungewear. Clothing for around the house, and a quick zip up to the essential shops, that’s still chic. So you can feel like you’re nailing this whole isolation thing.

Le Kasha is a loungewear orientated brand that first came to be in France in 1918. The revolution of women’s clothing was on its brink. Females no longer wanted the restricting and form-fitted garments like corsets designed for the male gaze. No, they wanted something comfortable and elegant.

Le Kasha created a cashmere that was innovative—it looked good, it kept well and was easy to maintain. Le Kasha even has ties to Coco Chanel, who led the charge in the revolution of change for women’s fashion. They supplied the fabrics for Chanel’s very first line of suits.

Today, the creative director Mali Marciano continues on with her family’s legacy. She was lucky enough to leave France prior to the lockdowns and has set up shop in Tel Aviv. Being by the ocean she tells Vogue, “keeps her calm and inspired” while she remains “busy working, training, drawing, cooking, reading, listening to music, and catching up with friends.”

Marciano’s latest Le Kasha collection sports earthy, natural tones in the traditional cashmere joggers and loose-fitting linen slips, tees and dresses. All of the brand’s cashmere is created from an eco-farm based in Mongolia. Aside from their iconic cashmere, the brand still uses luxury fabrics: 100% silks and linens.

The clothing is, at the same time, comfortable and environmentally mindful. The beauty behind the brains of the brand is that Marciano is living through the exact same thing as the rest of us. She knows what she wants when it comes to isolation clothing and she wants to bring that to her consumers.

Marciano tells Vogue that:

“I personally don’t want to feel like I’m wearing pyjamas all day. I tend to go for neutral colours and light silks or cashmere fabrics that feel like a second skin,

You can wear them on your sofa but also picture yourself wearing them on a holiday, on an adventure, or to an event that you’re looking forward to in the future.”

Le Kasha is timeless. It’s been around for over 100 years and has continued to stay relevant in the fashion world since its birth. Making women feel comfortable has never been more important. Looking good while feeling good is a key ingredient for self-satisfaction. We’re all searching for a bit of that at the moment. Put on that dreamy, elegant Le Kasha loungewear and take some selfies while you’re at it, because odds are we won’t get to see how fabulous you look any time soon.
