Celebrities are turning their lifelong obsession of reading into a global experience as they share their favourite literary picks via Instagram. 

For many, there’s no greater pleasure in life than finishing a good book. But for a lot of us searching for that next page-turner can be a challenge. Well search no more, we’ve got you covered with celebrity book clubs that take away the time of looking so you can focus on the reading.

Actress Emma Roberts and friend writer Karah Preiss began their online book club “Belletrist” in 2017. They used it to discusses all things books, from the newest releases to rare literary finds. From Interviews with writers, in-depth discussions and curated reading lists: what more could you ask for?

2. Oprah Winfrey (@oprah)

Beginning her book club in 1996 then relaunching it in 2012, Oprah Winfrey has proven she is still the most prominent celebrity bibliophile. Showcasing more than 70 titles with her book club with many soaring to the top of international bestseller lists. You’d be silly not to check this book club out.

 

3. Florence Welch (@betweentwobooks)

Starting in 2012, after Irish teenager Leah Moloney tweeted the Florence suggesting they create a book club together. And thus, Betweentwobooks was born. The diverse Instagram account recommendations range from poems to novels. For those looking for a more eclectic selection of books, Betweentwobooks is the place to look.

 

4. Barack Obama (@BarackObama)

Although technically not a book club, Ex-president Barack Obama annually uploaded his reading recommendations. From classics to new realises, Barack Obama knows a good book. Beginning in 2009 and continuing through to 2019, he has created a list of book recommendations and now we’re waiting to see if he releases his picks for 2020.

 

5. Kaia Gerber (@kaiagerber)

Kaia Gerber started a book club during quarantine, with the goal of sharing her favourite books with her 5.6 million Instagram followers. Gerber hosts a virtual meeting over Instagram Live once a week, interviewing a fellow reader. Past guests have been the authors themselves as well as famous friends including Phoebe Tonkin, Tommy Dorfman. From book recommendation to in-depth discussions Gerber sure knows how to run a pretty good book club.
