Pairing up with Aminé and slowthai on this energetic track, Disclosure have brought new meaning to their electronica genre with the release of their new single ‘My High’ and accompanying music video.
Following the announcement of their electric new album ENERGY and the release of their title track in May, Disclosure (brothers Howard and Guy Lawrence) have released another fist pumping, fast paced party anthem that brings the club to you, wherever you are.
This entrancing new track is a form of escapism from the mundanity in our lives, transporting us to a world of electro-charged euphoria. ‘My High’ is exactly what we need amid the current Coronavirus lockdown as it’s sure to incite many bedroom rave sessions.
‘My High’ is the second track off Disclosure’s forthcoming ENERGY album and includes an exciting collaboration with American rapper Aminé and British rapper slowthai. Disclosure spoke about their excitement to work with rap in their new song and how the writing process was an enjoyable experience.
“We always wanted to work with rappers, we just didn’t know any and we had no means of contacting them… there’s not a lot of rappers in Reigate,” Disclosure said in a statement.
“Writing ‘My High’ with Aminé was a lot a fun, he’s hilarious and may as well be a comedian. He writes so quickly and it’s amazing to watch. He brought so much energy to this already very energetic tune that when we got home to London in January there was only one guy capable of matching it… slowthai.”
When talking about the upcoming album the electronic duo said in a statement: “The thing that decided which songs made it and which songs didn’t was that one word: energy. Every track was written really quickly. That’s why we had to write so many songs because those ones don’t come up every day. Or every week. Or every month.”
The electro single also comes with an accompanying music video incorporating a whirlwind of turbulent chaos that is so outrageous you can’t seem to look away. The video features an injured man being pushed on a stretcher throughout Mexico and Los Angeles prior to the Coronavirus lockdown. Aminé and slowthai appear in the video humorously inflicting debaucherous behaviour on the helpless injured patient. Watch the entertaining music video below.
Disclosure’s ENERGY album is set for release on August 28 via Island Records following their previous album Caracal in 2015. The ENERGY album features many collaborations including Mick Jenkins, Channel Tres, Common, Kelis, Kehlani & Syd, Fatoumata Diawara, and more.
Songs released from the ENERGY album are the latest music Disclosure have shared since their Ecstacy EP in February, which featured five tracks with an incredible array of electronic sounds and pulsating beats.
