This That Festival Postpones To 2021, Adding Queensland Show

This That has postponed it’s 2020 edition of the music festival to February 2021, whilst also adding a Queensland show for the first time in the festival’s history.

The Newcastle music festival This That which typically occurs in November has announced a new location and new dates for its 2021 event. The festival will also occur over two days instead of one running across two weekends in February.

Traditionally a Newcastle only festival, This That are changing things up by adding Queensland to the first leg of their event where punters will enjoy a weekend at Sandstone Point.

“TT are putting on two back-to-back events with the THIS THAT festival family growing to include QLD’s Sandstone Point Hotel early next year,” the festival said in an Instagram post.

The new dates for the festival occur over two weekends with the Newcastle event occurring on Saturday, February 13 and the Sandstone Point leg occurring on Saturday, February 20.

In a bid to escape the grips of the dreaded Coronavirus pandemic, This That will enjoy a 2021 February festival with lots of new features and guaranteed quality music.

With the pandemic still affecting almost every live music event, This That festival organisers said in a statement that they will be “working with Federal, State and Local Government authorities on an all-encompassing health and safety plan, including advice around ongoing COVID safe protocols.”

The festival has had some amazing lineups in the past with their 2019 event including Golden Features, Hermitude, Northeast Party House, Running Touch, Slumberjack, Thundamentals and more.

The 2021 lineup is set to drop in the near future and is sure to feature a selection of amazing artists that will most likely be all Australian with the current ban on international travel set to continue into next year.

It is unclear whether This That festival will go-ahead next year amid the continuing Coronavirus pandemic which doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon. With many music festivals cancelling their events, only time will tell whether This That 2021 will survive the pandemic which hopefully eases by next year.
