Fremantle band San Cisco have announced a hometown album launch show for their forthcoming album Between You And Me out this Friday.
San Cisco are excited to announce the release of their album Between You And Me by hosting a launch show in Freemantle next month. The indie-pop band are set to release their highly anticipated fourth album this Friday, September 4.
The album launch show will be held at Freemantle Arts Centre on October 30, taking advantage of Western Australia’s limited COVID-19 restrictions on large gatherings. It’s times like these that make you wish border restrictions didn’t exist and live gigs were available in every state.
The show will also include performances from Stella Donnelly and emerging R&B artist Adrian Dzvuke as support acts. San Cisco and these support artists will also be playing at the Wave Rock Weekender festival in WA at the end of September joining artists Spacey Jane, Psychadelic Porn Crumpets, and POND.
The Between You And Me album was recorded in the band’s Fremantle studio as well as Mullumbimby in northern NSW with the help of longtime band collaborator Steve Schram producing, with extra production from POND’s James Ireland.
San Cisco’s new Between You And Me album follows their 2017 third album The Water. The forthcoming album features previously released tracks ‘When I Dream’, ‘Skin’, ‘On The Line’, ‘Between You and Me’, and ‘Messages’.
So far the album is sounding jazzy, groovy, funky, at times emotional and soulful, electronic, and is, of course, dripping in the band’s classic indie-pop sound.
The new album features band members Jordi Davieson and Josh Biondillo on vocals and guitar, with Scarlett Stevens on drums and vocals.
In a statement, the band said Between You And Me is “an album that pays tribute to the ends of both love affairs and friendships posed through a lens of nostalgia and young love.”
“It’s a feeling we haven’t really had since the first record, when you release a bunch of songs you’ve been playing for two or three years,” said San Cisco frontman Jordi Davidson about the forthcoming album.
“We’ve really grown with these songs. I still love them the same as the day we wrote them,” he said.
Earlier this year in March San Cisco released their EP ‘Flaws’, which marked their latest EP release in eight years. The four-track EP is a selection of tracks taken from their forthcoming Between You And Me album.
The songs that will feature on Between You And Me have already been recognised as certified bangers with ‘When I Dream’, ‘Skin’, and ‘On The Line’ all making it into the triple j Hottest 100 in 2018 and 2019.
Tickets for the Between You And Me album launch show go on sale this Thursday 3 September from 9am AWST via the band’s official website.
