Kaytranada is a master at his craft creating rich danceable beats that transcend your eardrums taking you to a space of pure bliss. The artist strips back the vocals from his original BUBBA album making this newly reworked version a showcase of Kaytranada’s talent when creating a tapestry of ambient, electronic, and R&B sounds.

This instrumental version of BUBBA is oozing in hip-hop, dance energy with beats that pulsate through your body, smooth transitions, and groove infused synths. Focusing on Kaytra’s summer funk sound this new album allows us to appreciate the artist’s artistic layering of different sonic elements throughout each song.

Vocals from Kali Uchis, Estelle, Tinashe, Mick Jenkins, Pharrell, and more were removed from the original album to create an instrumental masterpiece that focuses on the artist’s pure talent and mixing skills. With the focus on Kaytranada’s atmospheric electronic sounds, this new album is perfect for warm balmy summer nights ahead.

Speaking with Zane Lowe on Beats 1 in December about his BUBBA album Kaytranada said, “There’s just so many tracks that just didn’t make it [into BUBBA]. I intended to put it out in two parts,” he said. “I’m definitely going to do something kind of different on the next one.”

“Because it’s like, there was a lot of rappers: I have this song with Anderson .Paak that didn’t make the album, it’s really a good one. It’s just like, it has this sample I have to clear, and it just sucks, man. Sampling is my sound, like my main sound.”

Earlier this year Kaytra shared his first new song for 2020 ‘Look Easy’ where he collaborated with New Orleans singer Lucky Daye. Kaytranada’s original BUBBA album has been a hit success making it onto the Short List for the 2020 Polaris Music Prize which the artist’s debut album 99.9% won in 2016. Following its release, BUBBA also landed at #1 on the Billboard Electronic Albums chart and #3 on the Billboard R&B Albums chart.

Kaytranada’s new instrumental version of his album BUBBA highlights the artist’s classic funk, hip-hop sound which is exemplified through the removal of all artist vocals that appear on the original record. With a plethora of sounds, beats, and synths this new revised album is a stunning portfolio showcasing the artist’s ability to create pure electricity, making you want to groove and dance all night long.
