Talking about the meaning behind the new single, Tash said: “A little bit of a slower softer approach to a message from within, ‘Beyond The Pine’ is about finding solace in nature and realizing the depth of your relationship when you find your one. Love is yours no matter the colour, race, gender, religion, sexuality or identity.”
Tash who identifies as non-binary preferring they/them pronouns has created a loving and tender single that focusses on unity and love which is something we all need right now amidst a world gone awry. For the new single Tash paired up with co-writers Matt Corby and Dann Hume who also co-wrote the artist’s previous songs ‘Greed’ and ‘Pretty Lady’ at their studio in Melbourne. ‘Beyond The Pine’ is the third single taken from Tash’s forthcoming album Terra Firma with the 14 tracks record already sounding like pure serenity. Currently, a release date is yet to be announced.
In an interview with NME Australia, the singer shared the message behind their upcoming album;
“Terra firma is the ground, the earth, you put your feet on it to remember where you are, what you’re from,” they explain.
“It’s a reminder that we are only human at the end of the day. Part of one big system and no one really knows the answers to how and why.”
This highly talented artist has been spending their 2020 creating and releasing new music whilst also finishing their sophomore album Terra Firma. For an artist that only released their debut album two years ago, Tash Sultana has come leaps and bounds ahead in the music industry since then with many successes and accolades under their belt. With over one billion worldwide streams, sold-out shows, performances at iconic music festivals such as Coachella and Lollapalooza, six ARIA wins, and two songs Platinum, it’s safe to say this musical maestro has mastered their craft.
