Dolly Parton became the first country music star to receive the award back in 2019. One of country music’s most influential artists, many of her music industry contemporaries banded together to honour the singer by performing her hits.

Three-time Grammy award winner, Pink, sang a faithful rendition of ‘Jolene’. Accompanied by guitar, the singer’s vibrant and expressive vocals gave emphasis to the song’s hook, championing the storytelling aspects of the lyrics.

Dolly Parton’s Godchild Miley Cyrus was also a part of the festivities. Miley Cyrus has had numerous songs reach the top 10 in the US charts. In addition, her bold choices in performance have garnered her mass attention. Cyrus teamed up with Shawn Mendes to show their appreciation for Dolly Parton and her work. The two artists sang ‘Islands in the Stream’, mirroring Dolly Parton and Kenny Roger’s collaboration.
