Marking 5 years since their debut in 2016, the Korean girl group Blackpink is set to release an anniversary project titled the “4+1 Project”. As part of this project, the girls are also releasing an anniversary movie Blackpink: The Movie in August, the month of their debut.

According to South Korean platform Naver, the movie will include various arrangements highlighting the band’s journey. One of these will be the “The Room of Memory”, which will show memories of the band’s varying achievements and breakthroughs since their debut. The movie will also include an Unreleased Special Interview for “Blinks” (fans of the band) to look forward to. Five performances from their The Show and In Your Area concerts will also be featured in the movie.

Korean cinema chain CJV has plans to show the movie in varying formats, including tri-screen showings, and 4DX to allow audiences to immerse themselves within the concert experience. There is yet to be news on whether the movie will be shown worldwide. However, some speculate that it may be shown on Netflix, like their previous movie Blackpink: Light Up the Sky.

The group has not made a comeback since the release of their 1st full album, The Album, in 2020. However, Australian-born vocalist Rosé has debuted her single album R on the 12th of March.
