Tisci encapsulates a coastline environment full of water and greenery to represent summer, growth and vitality. Photographed by Danko Steiner and created with CGI artist Frederik Heyman, the campaign video presents a dream-like utopia with Campbell at its centre.
After launching its first TB Summer Monogram collection in 2019 featuring Gigi Hadid, and its collection last year with Kendall Jenner, Naomi Campbell does not fall short of expectation as the star of the campaign.
The British model stands surrounded by a reimagined seaside landscape that reflects the undiscovered, unknown and unimaginable world ahead.
The Italian designer said of his choice for the 51-year-old model,
“Naomi has this transcendental energy and beauty that embodies both a timeless classicism as well as the vitality of summer.”
The avant-garde video uses CGI and an avatar-esque Campbell to showcase the modern collection.
And the direction of the short film blends architecture with nature and machinery. It depicts beautiful structures and suspended steel and shell sculptures, melding a manmade and natural setting.
The Italian Designer has described the collection as “that optimistic feeling of summer and that feeling of constant momentum, the excitement for what’s next.”
“Burberry is a British institution and has been since it started in 1856 – in a way, you feel like you’re representing your country.
I feel that British style and attitude always lead the trends. We don’t just wear it, we live it.”
The British Model said.
The new TB monogram pays its respects to the brand’s founder, Thomas Burberry. The Summer line features cobalt blue, royal blue and grey tones in a full monogrammed collection for both menswear and womenswear.
The pieces provide a full range of complete looks. It covers everyday clothing, swimwear, pyjamas, coats, formalwear and summer loungewear. And these mainly comprise nylon jackets, jersey bodysuits, silk-satin slip dresses, cotton vests, briefs, silk shirts, shorts and oversized polo shirts.
Alongside this, the new line is accompanied by signature Burberry accessories like the Barrel and Lola bags, as well as bucket hats and jewellery all branding the TB monogram. Tisci said, “The collection captures that optimistic feeling of summer and that feeling of constant momentum, the excitement for what’s next.”
And while the brand pays homage to its founder and identity, Tisci’s setting inspires a new feel to Burberry. The collection marks itself as “a journey of evolution, exploring duality and undiscovered worlds” in its portrayal of the future.
The Chief Creative Officer and fashion designer said of the campaign,
“I wanted to celebrate the balance of our heritage with the importance of always evolving and looking forwards.”
The British label also says their new monogram line captures their individuality, optimism and discovery. It’s visionary, it’s exciting, it’s Burberry.
