The organisation launches its program in order to give those with disabilities a chance at being creative.
Disability organisation ThisAbility has launched a creative program to support disabled artists from BIPOC and minority backgrounds. The aim of the fund is to encourage those with disabilities to channel their imaginative abilities and show the world.
Creative Hope
The Disability Radical Imagination Fund will deliver ten grants of up to £1,500 to further disabled creatives’ practices. including those of artists, musicians, screenwriters, authors, writers, filmmakers, actors, designers, and more.
Within launching the fund, ThisAbility aims to make grant applications more accessible. This is done by allowing applicants to upload their applications in audio or video format. The switch to a flexible submission is also convenient due to the current lockdown situation.
Those who seek to apply will be able to until the deadline of 3 December. The winners will be announced in July of next year. This coincides with Sulaiman Khan’s birthday, the founder and chief purpose officer.

The funding raised for the grants will be from a deduction of 10% from every client investment into the company. More information regarding the investment can be found on the link here, and the application form for DRIFF can be found here.
