The actor first achieved prominence with a role in the comedy Encino Man, playing an unfrozen caveman named Link. Though he is primarily remembered today as an action hero for his work in The Mummy trilogy.

Fraser was a gifted performer,  capable of alternating between serious drama and family comedies with ease. This versatility left Fraser in high demand and made him a fan favourite. He was even set to replace Christopher Reeve in the role of Superman.

However, some unfortunate events drove Fraser out of the spotlight. Many were unaware of why Fraser seemed to leave Hollywood for a time and why he is just now staging a comeback.

He came out in 2018 speaking about his absence and the events that withheld him from Hollywood. These events ranged from multiple surgeries to even being a victim of sexual assault. While he still acted, the roles he received were not as large as those he had once enjoyed, like those in The Mummy franchise.

He suffered a crippling depression as a result and also lost his mother as this was happening. The divorce from his wife also fueled his depression to the point where no one thought he would return.

Thankfully, that has changed in recent years, thanks to a number of regular supporting roles. His small appearances in various shows and films reignited hope for the actor and his fans. With Series such as The Affair and Condor, Fraser is once again, quite rightly, in demand and in the public eye.

Most impressively, Fraser was recently announced as playing a lawyer in Martin Scorsese’s upcoming film Killers of the Flower Moon. The film has Hollywood’s best including Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Jesse Plemons.

The resurgence of Brendan Fraser or the “Brenaissance” as people call it, has fans delighted. Throughout the 90s Fraser has raised and entertained a generation who now support his return all across the internet.

He recently appeared in a virtual interview with a fan discussing his new roles on TikTok. He also shared that he was quite nervous about acting with Leonardo DiCaprio and starring in a Scorsese film. However, the fan reassures him and mentions the large number of fans who have been waiting and fully support him. The statement visibly moved Fraser as he bashfully tipped his cowboy hat to the interviewer. Fans of the star can’t wait to see what he does next.
