It looks like Netflix has a new hit on its hands with Hellbound, a supernatural series about demonic forces. The series comes from director Yeon Sang-ho, known for the 2016 zombie movie Train to Busan.

The first three episodes received high praise at their premiere at the Toronto Film Festival and London’s BFI Film Festival. The entire six episodes will be available to stream on Netflix later this month.

The series is based on an 11-minute short animation that the director first created in 2002. Set in Seoul, Hellbound centres on supernatural beings appearing around the city and dragging humans into the underworld. The plot then devolves into chaos, with a creepy religious group known as The New Truth Society promising to save people’s souls.

Famous faces include Kim Hyun-joo, Park Jeong-min and Chase Yi and Yoo Ah-in, recently named one of the best actors of 2018 by the New York Times for the psychological thriller, Burning.

The full series drops on Netflix on the 19th of November.
