Hwang Dong-hyuk Confirmed Squid Game Season 2 Before Netflix Did

Hwang Dong-hyuk, the creator of the South Korean hit show Squid Game,  has confirmed season 2 ahead of an announcement from Netflix.

Hwang Dong didn’t provide a release date and Netflix still has not announced it officially. Typically Korean series run for one season. Although, Squid Game is not the first Korean drama to get a renewal. Kingdom and Love Alarm got second seasons, and Kingdom even got a spin-off film this year.

Squid Game was released on 17th September 2021.  Lee Jung-Jae played the protagonist Seong Gi-Hun. He and a lot of other contestants who were in need of money participated in it. The competition was quite violent and it was all about $38 million. Only one person could win the prize. Whoever, loses dies.
It will be quite interesting to see what happens in the next season. While attending a screening and Q&A with Variety,  Hwang Dong-hyuk, the director, creator, and writer of the series said:
