Midorikawa and Japanese avant-garde label Suicoke drop a humorous version of Vibram‘s FiveFingers sneakers. With Midorikawa’s heavily deconstructed menswear basics inspired by “unfashionable clothes”, the 2021 LVHM Prize selected business has acquired a strong local following.

This isn’t Suicoke’s first attempt at the controversial FiveFingers, however. The NIN-LO has been part of Suicoke’s repertoire for years.

Toed shoes are polarising enough, but Japanese label Midorikawa’s anatomical twist on the Vibram FiveFingers silhouette adds an additional nightmarish element to the mix: Toenails.

The beautifully monstrous footwear is available in six different colours based on ivory, snow, and mocha skin tones.

Harry Styles, Pleasing

This week’s celebrity drop is Harry Styles’ new non-binary beauty brand, Pleasing.

The gossip started in May, when the pop star was listed as the director of a new company. Style registered a trademark in the UK for a “wholesome perfume and cosmetics” company. In the initial filing, Styles takes the credit as a director alongside Emma Spring.

The official announcement came on November 15 in Dazed magazine’s winter issue. Since, Styles has been seen wearing hoodies with the word “pleasing” printed on them. British GQ Style Editor, Zak Maoui, has also been busy tweeting photographs of posters across London.

Styles is known for his avant-garde fashion choices, which often include brightly coloured nails. It’s only natural for him begin the business with polish.

He tells Dazed,

“It was a fun little project, but during the pandemic, and when we eventually named it Pleasing, it felt like it was so much more than nail polish”.

The range includes an iridescent nail paint with a matte finish, a pearl white nail polish with a glossy finish and a nail polish set. It also features a moisturising antioxidant serum, and a serum-filled roller pen.

The brand launches with a four-polish ‘Perfect Polish Set’ for $95. Also available are two single nail polish colours, ‘The Pleasing Pen’ to “refresh lips and eyes” and an illuminating serum.

The range is available now thru the Pleasing website.

CUUP, Lurex Underwear

To commemorate the holidays, CUUP has just released its newest underwear collection. To get you in the Holiday spirit, the brand has created a new range in glittering colourways “Gold,” “Onyx,” and “Pyrite.”

The dazzling intimates are now available in a softer form, made with CUUP’s new Lurex fabric, which keeps wearers comfy all day. Combine the slinky underwear with a Balconette, Plunge, Scoop, Triangle, or Demi bra from the line to complete the look.

To elevate your outfit to the next level, you can match your intimates with dresses, suit sets or sultry mesh pieces.

Jason Wu x Cat Person

Cat Person has dropped a range of feline home essentials with Jason Wu. Wu, 39, has dressed Michelle Obama. He’s also won a CFDA Award and launched his own cosmetics line.

This recent collaboration with the pet lifestyle brand aims to win the hearts of pet owners with a sense of refinement. The line includes furniture and toys for pets, providing a minimalist yet elegant design which serves to elevate your space.

This decision makes perfect sense for someone whose friends have been calling him “the resident cat lady” of the group for years. Per People,

“I’m always lamenting about how there’s not really beautiful, but effective solutions for cat care products,” he tells PEOPLE. “It’s always in the back of every pet store. And so I always thought one day I’m going to make my own. I’ve been saying that for years.”

Wu explains that when Cat Person approached him about creating a line for their brand, his response cited it as “the perfect opportunity” to design his “dream collection.”

Wu is a cat owner – Jinxy and Peaches – whom Wu says inspired the collection. The release features a sleek litter box, a stylish cat food bowl, a metal scoop, a catnip toy and a black hoodie.

The designer tells People that there are differences between designing for animals and designing for humans. However, he concludes that everyone is looking for the same thing.

“What’s in common is really about aesthetics,” he says. “I think our cats deserve beautifully designed things, just like we want for ourselves.”

The full collection is now to view and purchase online.
