Barbie x Retrospekt

Retrospekt drops its second collaboration with Barbie. The sun-kissed camera is officially brought to you by Mattel and Polaroid. The camera is based on an original Barbie x Polaroid collaboration from 1999.

The plastic-moulded camera housing is brand new, however, built to the original design specifications. It looks exactly like its vintage counterpart. Everything else is made up of refurbished components from cameras made in the 1980s and 1990s. A nice nod to sustainability.

Retrospekt’s team of special technicians ensure that the old components function as new. This latest addition may not be for everyone, but its nostalgic nod to Barbie’s iconic 1970s West Coast aesthetic makes it pop.

The Malibu Barbie Polaroid 600 collaboration comes only a month after Retrospekt released a bright blue Pepsi-branded Polaroid. The Barbie pink and golden yellow camera can also be completely customised. Each camera comes with over 20 stickers that can be used to customise it with cute hearts, dreamy palm trees, cool shades, or even Barbie herself.

Marc Jacobs’ Teddy Bear

Heaven by Marc Jacobs has created a stuffed teddy bear in collaboration with German toymaker Steiff. This collectable plush is 12 inches tall and has a double-headed design. It wears a purple tartan bow around its neck.

Marc Jacobs commemorated the collaboration by designing a grey T-shirt with an image of the stuffed toy across the front. Shana Sadeghi-Ray is the designer of the grey crewneck sweatshirt it wears, with a fuzzy chenille logo.

The Nike Blazer is the original basketball shoe. As one of the Swoosh brand’s first silhouettes, it’s served as a starting point for iconic collaborations by Sacai and Virgil Abloh.

They also feature a “Light Madder Root” Swoosh and tongue tag. Suede panelling decorates the toe and laterals in a light pink hue.
